4/9/07

I only played for about an hour at cash games today, playing a bunch of sit-n-go's on Stars. Here's how I did:

Played in 11 $25+2 6max SNG's, and won $180. Cashed in six of them, winning four. Pretty good day on the donk-n-go front, but my main concern is cash games...

Again I didn't really play too much today on FullTilt, as I was running around a lot of the day, and kinda wanted to build up my Stars roll a bit.

Anyway, I played for .95 hours, 234 hands, and lost $26. Definitely a lacksidasical day on the cash game front, I decided to stop at the end of the session b/c I didn't really like how I was playing. Here's one WTF hand where I decided to float this guy, b/c I convinced myself he had a small pair b/c of his small 3-bet preflop:

Full Tilt Poker

No Limit Hold'em Cash Game

$0.50/$1 Blinds

6 Players

LegoPoker HH Converter

Stack Sizes

SB: $100.50

BB: $171.30

UTG: $172.75

MP: $163.35

CO: $77.85

toohigh305 (BTN): $98.50

Preflop: A:club: Q:club: ($1.50, 6 Players)

UTG folds, MP folds, CO folds, toohigh305 raises to $3.50, SB folds, BB raises to $9, toohigh305 calls $5.50

Flop: 8:diamond: T:heart: 4:club: ($19, 2 Players)

BB bets $10, toohigh305 calls $10

Turn: 8:diamond: T:heart: 4:club: 8:spade: ($39, 2 Players)

BB bets $15, toohigh305 raises to $50, BB raises to $85, toohigh305 folds

Uncalled bet of $35 returned to BB

Yea, terrible I know. Another case of fancy play syndrome against a 2+2'er:

Full Tilt Poker

CO: $101

toohigh305 (BTN): $98

Preflop: 9:spade: J:spade: ($1.50, 6 Players)

UTG folds, MP folds, CO raises to $3.50, toohigh305 calls $3.50, SB folds, BB calls $2.50

Flop: 5:diamond: 5:heart: J:diamond: ($12.50, 3 Players)

BB bets $10, CO calls $10, toohigh305 raises to $35, BB folds, CO raises all-in to $97.50, toohigh305 folds

Uncalled bet of $62.50 returned to CO

Another case where I put my villain on a small pair and get burned. He played this hand well, whatever he had.

Despite not playing much today, I learned a valuable lesson from these two hands. There's no need to get fancy and try to outplay decent opponents (both had TAGgish stats) when there are certified donks at the table. I should be focusing on playing the donks, and not playing back at thinking opponents as much.

Here's one more kind of interesting hand, where I float this megadonk (stats were like 80/2/1) who was playing like a retard, I'm almost positive I didn't need the river:

Full Tilt Poker

No Limit Hold'em Cash Game

$0.50/$1 Blinds

6 Players

LegoPoker HH Converter

Stack Sizes

SB: $131.15

BB: $177.30

UTG: $103.10

MP: $350.25

CO: $99.50

toohigh305 (BTN): $98.50

Preflop: A:heart: K:diamond: ($1.50, 6 Players)

UTG folds, MP calls $1, CO folds, toohigh305 raises to $4.50, SB raises to $8, BB folds, MP folds, toohigh305 raises to $26, SB calls $18

Flop: 4:heart: 4:spade: 3:club: ($55, 2 Players)

SB bets $14, toohigh305 calls $14

Turn: 4:heart: 4:spade: 3:club: 2:diamond: ($83, 2 Players)

SB bets $19, toohigh305 calls $19

River: 4:heart: 4:spade: 3:club: 2:diamond: K:heart: ($121, 2 Players)

SB checks, toohigh305 bets all-in for $39.50, SB folds

Uncalled bet of $39.50 returned to toohigh305

Pot Size: $121 ($3 Rake)

So overall I'm up $155 today, not bad, but I should definitely be logging more cash game hands.
